Re: Slingy & LF taking competitor wings

revhed sure did hate the first generation of LF foils though. They really did suck :thumb: And even more sucking for guys who bought them because of L F "hype" marketing and now know they suck and can not resell. If the "funny foil" was so great as L F claimed it was, why discontinued? And yes they...

Re: Stem Cell Treatment for Shoulder?

After 3 knee injuries from snowboarding I have no cartilage left in my knee and I plan on having stem cell therapy performed after the summer kite season. My doctor (who also works on the Seahawks) says he’s seen improvements in 75% of patients two years on after treatment. Can any doctors weigh in...

Re: Going from Short Mast to Long mast Advice

that's why i said i wasn't talking about the 'real short masts'. imagine the ease of riding a 1 inch mast. but we're talking approximately 60cm vs 90cm here, i think. when i first learnt (and believe me, i still consider myself a beginner after 6 months under my belt), i went from 18 inch mast (1 da...

Re: Going from Short Mast to Long mast Advice

i actually find the shorter mast is harder because there is less room for error. I learned on a long mast with a beginner type wing (LF Rocket setup), but then got Impulse Wing with shorter mast. I find touching down with the board is much more likely with the shorter mast, and that seems to make se...

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

jkrug, how would you compare Ultra 12m to Wave 12m, please? I have had the Wave 12m, and while the 9m Wave was really good, the 12m I felt was a bit dull (perhaps every 12m kite is). Does the Ultra 12m turn quicker than the 12m Wave and does the Ultra generate power when turning or only when flying...

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

I agree, it's weird how few comments there are on 12m from people who own it. 9 seems to be a good one. there's a bunch of us here that have the UL 12m. maybe we're not commenting because we're out foiling with it so much. but seriously, it's a great foiling kite and hangs up there in the lightest ...

Re: Stem Cell Treatment for Shoulder?

i had stem cell therapy on my shoulder, it was a complete waste of $6000 which insurance didn't cover and came with quite a bit of pain (during the procedure) too. but some others had some success with it. the key is to find a doctor willing to tell you the truth. the doctor i saw wanted my money, e...

mast length with bigger wings

i'm considering getting a bigger foil wing like an impulse/takuma. some have told me i will also want a shorter mast because the standard mast (approx 94 cm) will be too big/unwieldy for it. but others have told me the shorter masts (approx 60 cm) recommended with these bigger wings are too short. t...

maybe you girls should stop worrying so much about how you look with your kites and concentrate on actually kiting. :allbegood:

Re: Wainman upwind ability.

going side by side with friends out there, i noticed while I'm on my Wainmans, they can typically go upwind a bit better than I. the other kites are mostly Cab and Best. But I wouldn't trade them; it's not a huge difference and the Rabbit's are excellent all-around wave and jump kites. i'm mostly wa...
