Re: thin booties, sharp objects, too keep out sand Help!

ION Ballistic boots 3/2 with a Kevlar sole. I have a pair and use them with the ankle straps removed. I tuck them under the wetsuit legs.

Re: Oceanus kite reels: i still see them

Someone here once said they used thinner plastic zip ties to act as a pressure release on the leash connection to the board. Another option is to stick 2 strips of velcro together (to get back-to-back hook/eye) - then use an overlap of the velcro to set your preferred release force. You can manuall...

Re: Oceanus kite reels: i still see them

Huh? If you have a leash, and the kite takes you on a trajectory off the water, through the air and land back on the water - while you are travelling on that trajectory with the leash taut, the leash will act as an aiming device, to make the board follow a similar trajectory to your body. When you ...

Re: Launching a kite when no one is around

This can be done with the kite at the waters edge and the board leaning on the kite in such a way that it will slide off as you turn the kite, then after launch get the board.

Re: Oceanus kite reels: i still see them

You got to understand that the board return is really slow. There is no whipping of the leash as it doesn’t have any bungee action. Until you sink the board, then get lobbed downwind. Re: Repeatable measuring of lift-to-drag ratio, anybody?

I hope someone somewhere is actually using a flow tank to develop hydrofoils and then they would have to measure the lift drag of the various designs. They could also check the pitch stability at differing angles of attack. Something like this, but with instruments measuring the loads in real time. ...

Re: Drift launch - consistently get steering and front line tangled

Hi, I am beginner, been practicing drif launch due to most local places do not have enough shore space (tree line etc.). Following many videos on YouTube where rider basically (after walking lines and rigging like for normal assisted launch) then wraps lines, again like normal (using figure 8), gra...
