Re: Foiling without a kite

thanks - i think i understand. I do same think on surfboard when I actually "surf" on surfboard. Turn downwind - let kite drift and move my feet to wide and centered stance and do my "surfing". Never experience it on HF - Im just starting... To busy to go straight :)

Re: Foiling without a kite

One way to "pump", is to fly the kite high, standing with feet at the center of the board (thus strapless the only way I think), and just bear off riding the small wind swells - really fun. And now you can pump the foil to keep momentum, without any kitepull :D 8) PF This seem like super fun! Could...

I would say the Ozone Enduro 12. No single strut kite can come even close in boosting and I can easily foil in 8 to 10 on a lift foil.

I have 2006 GK Sonic - 8. I dont say it is in good condition, but i still use it. I leave it for my children to beat it to death while learning :) It has very good safety system just let go the bar and all pull is gone. Only thing missing is one pump It would be very interesting to have an independ...

Re: What is your HF kite quiver?

Because there is no linear relation between wind speed and wind strength but quadratic one. So there same demand for kite sizes - big gaps between big sizes and small gaps between smaller sizes. As wind gets weaker kites needs to be much bigger 10 and 5 knots means 4x bigger kite for same power. Win...

Re: Importance of foil weight/float

Lighter, just as stiff, hydrofoils are way better IMO and liking. But I am spoiled, having used these a lot - but have also ridden many alu foils, so have quite a lot of experience with these types. In reality it is a luxury thing with lighter gear  For jumping and doing freestyle in the air,...

a floating foil (board on its side) does indeed sail away from you. Foil down they always truck direct down wind or with the waves.
I didnt know that - thanks for info
