Re: Liquid Force Kitefish / Slingshot Arcane

I've recently bought a 2010 Ronix Koal 5'6" Wakersurfer and I had a lot of fun strapless riding it in some very light wind this past weekend on a local lake. Planes very early even when there is barely enough wind to keep the kite in the air. I think the very flat rocker and it's width are the keys ...

Re: C kites -- Which one?

Power, For easier relaunch, just add a 5th line. Don't get rid of the kite until you try flying it after making some adjustments. From what you describe, it sounds like you may have too much back line tension. I have 2007 Yargas and the kites flew badly when I had too much back line tension. Get wit...

Re: 2010 Corpus Worlds training up-date...

Adam, I think the reason the chop is so steep and tight is the bay is pretty shallow which forces it to kind of jack up. Even though I live in McKinney Texas, I have been making a trip to Corpus almost every year for the past 20 years. I was a very avid windsurfer and the bay was really fun for bump...

Re: Skiing waves in Hawaii

I agree with bustingbladder, we need to give credit to Cory Roeseler for doing it first in 1993. He definitely had a lot of influence on the Hawaiian crew and showed them you could go upwind. Please see the attached You Tube video.

Re: Standard Bars - 90% use it (changed)

It seems to me we were closest to a standard safety system years ago when we first went to five line C kites. But as we moved to bow and sle kites, most companies went back to the one front line or the oh shit rear line handle safety. Unfortunately, you can get the pinwheel affect with these on bow ...

Re: Best Kiteboarding introduces the 2009 Kahoona

What amazes me is here we are in 2009 and all these delta kites sure look a lot like the original Wipika and Naish AR3.5 kites from 1999.

Re: Short lines and Light wind Longboarding

Jaco, I kite all the time on an inland lake and the key is to find launch where the wind has a long fetch. This will help smooth out the wind and make it seem less gusty. I wouldn't recommend using lines shorter than 25 meters because shorter lines will make the kite even more twitchy. I have found ...

I got a 2004 Access 12m last year and it was in really good shape. Their prices are very good.

There's plenty of directional boards on eBay. I found a brand new F-One XS70 for $150.00 delivered to my door. I live in McKinney Texas about 45 minutes north of Dallas and kite on a lake. With a Cabrinha 12m Access and this board, I can cover most of the wind conditions get.
