Re: What would you do if ....

Yes did happen last Sunday. Beautiful day and late building sea breeze so beach still crowded, high tide so not much room. I couldn't believe my eyes. Also, no other kiters around and I was with familly (in car waiting to go home). These guys had NO idea. The kite wouldn't have flown as it was 1/2 p...

Re: Maui Conditions

How far up wind can you kite? i.e is kiting up to and beyond kanaha ok? know there are some airport restr...

Re: Preventing and correcting backwards flight

Thanks all for your input. Yes is half a rotation, so end up looking backwards and smacking into water back and head first. Definitely need my helmet when that happens. Might try completing rotation as suggested. Agree that take off and looking where I want to go are critical.

Preventing and correcting backwards flight

Might have been previous topic. In about a third of my jumps when I get reasonable height I end up flying backwards. Think it is combination of not twisting body down wind (i.e in direction of jump) and not redirecting kite (i.e front hand) early enough. Any tips please? Also, when do most of you re...

Re: Crossbow IDS 7m review ?

Have xbow IDS in 13 and 9, so can't comment on IDS 7. But my xbow 3 7m has poor low end, so wonder if this characteristic has continued. Don't get me wrong, the high end is insane and kite awesome, just wierd to fly it when really windy, yet really have to power kite up to get good response. Suppose...

Re: Sugar Cove Maui

Can anyone elaborate on this a bit more. Sailed several times out of Kanaha snd Sprecks. Kited out of kite beach. Is it ok to get in amidst the windsurfers (and small waves) off Kanaha as there seem to be an unofficial boundary.

rarotonga

Dont know if anyone can help. Has been previous topic but few replies. Am heading there in couple weeks, staying on main island (wont be at aitutaki). Think am on southeast aspect. Seems small island so can move to find best wind. Any specific advice on kite sizes? Any general advice much appreciated.
