Re: F-One bladder issues (again :( )

I am of the opinion that the companies that make the valves changed the formulation. I have seen this problem in several companies since 2008. Before 2008, it was extremely rare for most of the top brands to have any issues with the valves deteriorating. It was common for valves to delaminate, but t...

Re: Effect of shorter lines to kite’s high end wind range

Hey Mike, In my experience shorter lines smooth out the gusts as the kite reaches the edge of the window faster. For going shorter lines, I like to tune so that I can still loop the kite. If too hard to loop, then you have gone too short. That being said, I wouldn't rely on shorter lines to give a k...

Re: F-One spare parts

F-one is one of the brands that uses crappy valves that oxidize over time.
To remove the valve from the bladder, I would remove the bladder from the kite and submerge the valve in hot water, then gently peal, repeating the process.

Re: Helmet is so noisy:(

Any noise feedback on the soft helmet GameBreaker? https://gamebreaker.com/shop/gamebreaker-pro-soft-shell-sports-helmet/ Justine Dupont has been wearing it at Nazare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOjAxCGDA3Q I wear earplugs. I tried a bunch and landed on Tyr ear plugs that let me hear. I didn't ...

Re: Bar tuning question, 3cm oversheet

Easy peasy, Add pigtails to your back lines at the ends of the lines. You can create your own pigtails with amsteel with an overhand knot, which is compatible with the kite's pigtails of knots or loops. If 3 cm is too hard to tune, I would also make pigtails for your front lines, just make the rear ...

Re: Surfboard for big waves

I'm looking for a directional board for strapless kitesurfing in big waves (double overhead+). Currently I have a Duotone Wam SLS. I'm considering the following options: - Duotone Session SLS - North Charge - Cabrinha phantom - Slingshot XR Do you have any recommendations? Any other boards I should...

Re: A kite that turns super fast with the least yank

The RRD Religion is a fast turning kite that has minimal yank. That being said, I wouldn't buy that kite for jumping, it is not designed for that. To progress slowly, I would use the shortest lines that could still comfortably loop the kite. Definitely agree to go with a bigger kite, and on the bott...

Re: Anyone use flippers?

I recommend the Aquasphere Alpha swim fins. They are 70% lighter than other fins. I stuffed them inside a backpack, but you could carabiner them onto your harness too. Inside my backpack, I carried a drybag, in which I could stuff my foil kite inside. It sucks swimming with a foil kite that takes on...
