Re: I live in Zakynthos Greece

Hi A few options on Kefalonia. I kite from lixouri, just below the harbour breakwater. Takes a little work to get past the breakwater but once you do, loads of wind great bit of swell too. No traffic other than a ferry which yo should be able to keep upwind from you unless you fancy a beat over to t...

Re: New Decision for Kitesurfing in Greece

13 years living in Greece. The rules and requirements are hilarious. Never before has a national body focussed so heavily on the safety of kitesurfers yet totally ignored the fact that on land: everyone rides motorbikes without a helmet (the port police go to work on their 1100cc bikes - no helmet)....

Re: Shinn monk vs North jamie pro vs fonetrax

Recently sold my Trax 5 for a Monk. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Trax, infact it did everything really well. I changed for the Monk for no major reason other than the glowing review it was given by the distributor. Here's the link that will help most: http://www.kiteboarder.co.uk/kitesurfing/vi...

Re: inside broken SS 2009 control bar - Photos

Don't think theres any excuse for this kind of failure so early. I work in the yachting industry and we use all sorts of stainless/plastic combined fittings that take a load far in excess of a 95kg rider. Pulleys, winches, spinlock cleats, rollers, runners etc. They last for years & years. Never act...

Re: 12 & 9m a good quiver for 2010 north evo?

I would go 12 and 8 , if you only have the 9 i think you would miss out on a lot of low wind sessions , this combo would cover you from 13 to around 30 knots . :cool2: Thats true, but he's posted that he wants the kites for a 15-25kn wind range. You are right though, had I realised how powerful the...

Re: 12 & 9m a good quiver for 2010 north evo?

Got the 2010 9m EVO. I'm slightly heavier than you & ride a 135/42 tt. I would say I can ride powered at 15kn with the 9 alone. Never thought it possible. I was thinking of getting the 12m but now wondering whether to bother now. Ridiculous statement to make but I think the 9m might make a 1 kite qu...

Re: Core Kites

Tried a 8m XR- nice kite to jump, cruise, etc. solid, stable in gusts, light bar pressure, but higher turning bar pressure. Tried to loop it- did not want to go around. had to fishpole it just to get it round. Didn´t like that. Has anyone else experienced problems with kiteloops on the XR? I was in...

Re: Any feedback on the Core GTS??

Thanks Adrood, I am 95kg so a lot heavier. Hope the GTS 12m will work in 14kn. Should do if its a quick kite. I thought about the GT which has more low end (according to their website) but theres no discount on it and its a kite that came out in 2007. They are a funny company. Not offering discounts...
