Re: 2019 Duotone Click Bar

I only do unstrapped wavesailing so not much in terms of rotations and loops except the odd loop to accelerate past closeouts. So hardly any sailing with twisted lines. That said here is what I consider the only real drawback of the click bar: After spinning the bar to get the twist out the bar snag...

Re: 2019 Duotone Click Bar

Just did a check of my North clickbar. I bought it as soon as it came out and have well over a hundred sessions on it, mainly in heavy duty Gran Canaria conditions with sharp rocks and high winds. I fail to understand the criticism of the north lines. I have gone for non-brand replacement lines a co...

Re: Gran Canaria

Pretty much current. La Punta de Maspalomas has become a bit more relaxed in terms of you not needing a club lycra. It is however important to keep far enough out towards the tip. There is a sign saying where the surf zone starts (which is also where the nudist zone starts). Now in the summer the so...

Re: Learning Wave Kitesurfing in Mauritius... Good Idea?

I have to agree that Le Morne is not the ideal place to learn wave kitesurfing. Even Manawa is a serious wave and far offshore so if you screw up you do have a problem. Also you will probably find yourself often in the way of the more experienced guys. All in all you don't need waves of this size an...

Re: North Click Bar Official Unofficial Thread

Just got off the water after my first two sessions with the new click bar. Very pleased so far but one question for you guys: It seems to me that the bar is set up with to much depower, ie the backlines are to long. When I power up the bar totally (the power wheel cranked all the way up and the bar ...

Re: Rip Curl Search GPS Watch

I have used the Rip Curl Search watch and app since November 2014 and is very pleased with it. I use it for all my water sessions: Surf, SUP and (mostly) kite. As already mentioned it works best for surfing as the wave count doesn't work when kitesurfing as your highest speed is actually when sailin...

Re: Neo vs other wave kites

I won't comment on my personal experience here as I have not tried enough other 2014-2015 wave kites. All I can say is that at my local spot (Gran Canaria) we had a total mix of all types of wave kites two years ago. Then the 2014 Neo arrived (earlier Neos suck, they are a totally different kite) an...

Re: Historic kitesurfing video in Carabete Dec 1998, Jan 199

Nostalgic ! I remember going on a windsurfing trip to cabarete summer of '99. There I saw 2 kitesurfers for the first time (possibly same two guys ?).

Anyway, went straight home - got myself a couple of kites and havent touched my polesurfing kit since :-)

Thanks for the post
