Re: Reedin kite ads doubled lines

Hi. There are quite a lot of Reedin Super model in use. I would like to hear more feedback from users. I have a Reedin 10m and I'm very happy with it. I would also like to know more about the 7m supermodel. especially when it comes to big air. I have used my 7m once, as I went from boosting on the ...

Re: Reinvent the kite comp

You could finish or start the slalom run/boarder cross style course with a big air jump where every meter of WOO height takes a second off your time. Boardoff gets 10% bonus, kiteloop(proper) gets double. I dunno, just riffing here, but you get the idea: make a big air with some trick modifier count...

Re: Hydrofoil evolution challenge #2: surface piercing foil

Hi Haven't we discussed this stuff before JS? with chemosavi and the like, about 6-7 years ago? In 2007 I built a fore+aft bidirectional fully ventilated foilboard using aluminium plates. I ground down the topside leading and trailing edges to get knife edge almost. Dangerous, but it was a technical...

Re: So... whose watching the america's cup races?

Say what you will about the pros and cons of slow monohull match racing , but in my eyes you have to keep going forward. Material, structural and aerodynamic science is pushing the envelope forward in a way that is capturing the imagination of a wider audience. This deserves to be built upon. Costs ...

Re: any tactics for kiteboard racing?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching all the race coverage of the 34th america's cup that you can. Not only has it been a masterclass in upwind/downwind match racing tactics, but the plethora of boatspeed indicators, layline and wind height graphical overlays, and track history overlays has given a god's eye...

Re: Back to the drawing board- how will we beat Sail Rocket?

Well, maybe I have a "closed mind", then, but the way I see it, I just have a low tolerance of ropey armchair technical talk from someone professing to have an " obvious solution" yet who cannot clearly layout the foundations of it. The post above is a good example. the analogy is bad , the context ...

Re: Back to the drawing board- how will we beat Sail Rocket?

Hmmm... the answer can simpler than you are all thinking - the sail Rocket is not a new idea, it is a collection of existing ideas from someone openminded enough to see things as they really are !! If you have a multitude background of powered watersports - the answer is very obvious and you dont n...

Re: Back to the drawing board- how will we beat Sail Rocket?

following on from my post above, while we are talking about 70knts current performance capability of sailrocket, I do wonder if 100knt is even in the same ballpark at all- the forces and ride quality will be twice as much and I imagine their semi-cavitating fin(from what I can gather in my research ...

Re: Back to the drawing board- how will we beat Sail Rocket?

at the end of the day the rider wind drag is a bit of a show-stopper for the kiters. But once you start talking about aerodynamic rider fairings and pods etc, you might as well go the whole hog and build a purpose built vessel. I think regarding sailrocket, that there is an alternative configuration...
