Re: Best bankrupt?

local kite shops will be around forever. The reason has nothing to do with economics and everything to do with lifestyle. It's like being in a rock and roll band. Most, I mean nearly every band out there loses money. You go look at how much they spend on their gear the amps, travel, hotels, and how...

Re: Best split boards 2016

I have a Newwind split twin tip. It's an excellent board and is my go to board even when I'm not traveling. I highly recommend. You can order it any size configuration you want. Nice flexi board and very light. I've had mine for 5 years and no issues.

Yea it's awesome there. Been going once or twice every year since 2002. Started driving last year. Not as bad a drive as I thought it was going to be.

Re: Phoenix, Arizona Kiting

So, I'll be there in July/Aug/Sept..........sounds like a waste of time for me to bring my kite gear?...too hot?? Yea. It's pretty hot...too hot for me but some of the guys here go anyway. San Quintin on the Baja is fantastic in the summer...70/80 degrees and both flat water and wave riding. Also s...

Re: Upwind Board

Width and low rocker are the big factors. At your weight at least a 43cm wide board will help a lot. If the board has good flex you can use a fairly large board in big winds as well as light winds. I use my Slingshot Glide in almost all conditions. Very versitile. The type of kite you have can make ...

Re: Best light wind TT for chop, swell and waves

Flat and flexi is the best way to get lots of range. Spleen 41, Slingshot Glide, as well as plywood boards are good examples. As for chop and waves, you can easily get used to using these boards in big water. I use a Glide in huge chop in winds up to 25mph... no problem. This design is certainly not...

Re: Portland vs Houston - which one would you move to?

I love Texas, and if you think we are a bunch of inbred rednecks then please by all means keep your close minded liberal ass's out of here. Houston has a lot of opportunities, multiple cultures, it's very affordable. Tex Mex is great, and so are the women. Now if you want more terrain we can not he...

Re: Good 'Ole Dayze - Any Survivors?

Started kiting in 2001 so I missed the beginning by a bit. The forum has been a great source ideas and information. Met loco4viento on the forum and started riding with him in 2002 and we've been riding together ever since in Mexico and SPI. I had a great time helping this mad inventor test his Arc ...
