Need help- Can anyone provide feedback on typical winds at South Padre Island TX in August? Is it too hot and light that time of year?

Looking for a warmer destination with a better nightlife than the gorge.

Oh yeah- Jeff is not only good in the water he is also an excellent Snow Kiter- runs a school and kite tours in Utah in the winter......

How is the construction quality on the Bandit? Is it durable? I still like C kites but there is very few models to choose from in 2008- Bandit looks interesting based on the feedback

Can you ride this kite with a standard 5th line bar? I prefer to use my SS bar beacuse the chicken loop is on a swivel which allows you to do mutiple kite loops and spins without twisting the center lines.

I tried a SB 3 at 3rd Ave the weekend of 9/15- I agree that the turning speed is an improvement from the SB2- this an excellent freeride, surf unhooked kite- I also like it better than the Rebel 2007 because the SB 3 had better low end and I believe it jumps better. I ride a C kite (Raven 2007 14M) ...

What about that guy who got lofted in Maui? It was caught on film as they were taping Top Hat on Kite Beach- he seemed to be up there for at least 20 plus seconds-
