Kite bar simulator with depower

I made a bar simulator that can be used to learn new skills. It simulates turning and depower. I hope it's helpful if you need to teach or practice a few tricks.

Re: Land teaching - 5th line instructor safety - Safer land lesson

This is a brilliant idea. If I'm ever unfortunate enough to have to teach someone again, I will definitely use it. Thanks heaps for making this. It will make teaching a lot safer for everyone involved. I recommend you test it out before with a skilled person piloting. Ask them to make mistakes so y...

Re: Land teaching - 5th line instructor safety - Safer land lesson

Great Vid! I never thought about doing this before. But am I correct in assuming that this is only for when you do not have a small kite to teach on? Or would you use this with a 6m kite in 14m winds, and would it still add safety to the lesson? And my one problem with stopping a student making the...

Re: Land teaching - 5th line instructor safety - Safer land lesson

If the instructor is teaching, he should be focussed entirely on the student. I use this in any wind condition if i teach on land. It is essential that the instructor practices, as his position is crucial for this to work correctly. But an experienced instructor can almost predict where the kite is ...

Re: 3 Water start techniques. Why the most common one is not the best

Yes. The movement is similar to the sliding transition. Just that you are starting instead of already riding. Also you send the kite to 12 and not 11 as you are already going so you don’t need as much power. I’ll make a video about that too.

3 Water start techniques. Why the most common one is not the best

The first water start is like wakeboarding with a boat without a tower. The rope is attached near the engine pulling you down. It's possible to wake but not that easy. This one is, however, the most used one. The 3rd one is like doing it with the tower as the pull is up helping you to stand. And you...

Re: Safety issue of connecting kite leash to the back or side of Harness

I use a long one on the mystic With the eyelet, you see on the video. There is no problem with it, and it doesn't go longer than your knee. If you want to have is less dangling make it go around your back.

Re: Safety issue of connecting kite leash to the back or side of Harness

Thanks for the video Taabsr. It highlights a potential problem that I have been neglecting. My setup is a Manera Exo harness with a Core short leash. exo front.JPGExo back.JPGCore short.JPG As you can see from the images, there is no connection point in the front, and not really on the side either....

Re: Safety issue of connecting kite leash to the back or side of Harness

What's wrong with the side? It's perfectly reachable for me and less clutter in front of me. As you can see in the video we tested it by pulling with a boat. The most disorienting and hard one was the side. The front connection is no stress. On the video you can see how we suggest that you attach w...
