Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

All in all another solid product by Panash and Fun Alex. Yup. After my 18 arrives I'll have to rethink my quiver and possibly buy the Kestrel 12. My Ozone Hyperlink 12 has taken a beating the last four years and I think it's just worn out. It back stalls constantly now in wind that would have been ...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Let's really think about marketing here. Kiting surfing is for the most part, a coastal sport. Yeah, I'm sure there are a few lakes to kite on. I've never seen anyone snowkite here in the United States. So I would imagine the manufacturers would want to MAXIMIZE their audience since they are already...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

I ordered a Pansh Kestrel in the 18 and 21 sizes. The 18 is held up at customs but the 21 arrived. I went out today in 9mph winds and it was just doable on a 158 twintip. The wind picked up to 12mph and it was an absolute dream. Perfect waves. Crazy lofty hang time jumps. I think the 18 will be my f...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

I've said before, I miss my 2006 Best Waroo 20 too much. I could go out on the water when there was just a little bit of wind texture on the water. Today's 14 max size kites don't have that ability. I moved from New York to New Smyrna Beach Florida 2 year ago. I'm just north of the powerful and stea...

Re: Self launch and self land option

I wouldn't mind having a 5th line attached to the kite, attach my landing carabiner to that, and just let go of the bar so the kite tacos from the fifth line on the leading edge. Fully depowered landing. Ozone uses a a rear ride system for their Hyperlinks during snow kiting but they recommend disco...

Re: Self launch and self land option

Here's two videos from different angles of me landing my Pansh A15 15 meter in 12 to 15 mph winds. I use both methods. I use a sand bag with a rope and a carabiner clip, which attaches to the rear turning line. I also put 1-1/2" pvc stakes into the sand facing into the wind to grab the kites lines o...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

I had the same issues as all you guys, but I only weigh 165 pounds. I bought the 2006 Waroo 20m when it came out and loved it on my 133 twintip. It had so much grunt and I could kite when there was the littlest bit of wind texture on the water. I finally dumped the kite 3 years ago because it was be...

Re: Sometimes you just have to get out there...

I'm getting crushed this summer. I moved from Long Island NY to New Smyrna Beach on the east coast of Florida in late June. NY is getting 15 to 10 knots almost everyday. Meanwhile I can't buy a puff of wind here. It's excruciating. I didn't realize the wind was THIS bad during the summer. I've vacat...

Re: Drysuit With Socks

I'm surprised you guys use the latex socks with wool socks and then neoprene boots. I tried that for one season and then cut them off, to swap latex ankle seals. I found all those materials made me completely lose the feel of the board.

Re: Self launch and self land option

I've tried it with my 12m Ozone Hyperlink and haven't bee too thrilled. You can't pull the rear line in through the carabiner enough to get the kite to calm down because you eventually get snagged on the bridle pulley. The kite isn't powered up at this point, but in powered winds the kite still has ...
