Re: Pocket board rocker

I've just finished a pocket board. It has 10+ cm nose rocker and 30mm tail. I think my nose rocker is too abrupt, should be more gradual towards middle of the board. My hypothesis after making 2 foil boards is that tail rocker primary benefit is it changes AoA of board to foil, so when you touch dow...

Re: Learning with Zeeko Carver vs Green

No straps. Might be infrequently your foot gets caught, but the Consequences can be serious injury to your foot, ankle, or lower leg. You want to limp the rest of your life after a 12 month rehab?

Get foothooks.

Re: Moses 2018

I think moses would have done this if they could without compromising the performance goals. No company wants to increase the parts they have to make, it's a common way a growing company can kill it's self...

Re: Xmas foiling holiday

Foil,

I guess you pay for the rescue service at Matas Bay? It's side off.
And you have a car to get from Corralejo? It's 90 min drive, perhaps you are staying closer to Matas?

Re: ideal LEI for freeride/race

I've not ridden an Ozone edge, but I see guys using them regularly for freeride, boosting on TT. All sizes. Sometimes I see a few guys, one is on a 13 another is on a 9, both going well powered, the guy on bigger kite is just boosting bigger. They look really stable and Fast through the air. I bet a...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

Jakemoore,

On another thread IWB2 says his sweet spot on Hyperlink 7 is 14-18. Rides it 12-22.
7 seems to have a lot of overlapping with the 9.
Seems like I need a 6m. Perhaps a Soul??

Re: Ozone Chrono V3

IWB2, I find reverse landing in 14 -15 knots a bit scary still. I'm putting kite a 10 or 2 at Edge of window and backing it down from there. A friend of mine with long foil kite experience does a teather landing like this: He attaches teather to the c-loop, or center lines. Unhooks and takes off lea...

Re: ideal LEI for freeride/race

I would guess the Ozone edge is good lei for upwind speed. You said you don't want to go for foil kites, but you should consider them, especially for the kind of riding you are doing. I've been kiting since 2002, and I recently got an Ozone Hyperlink 9m UL, Have 7 sessions so far. Lite and high end....

Re: Ozone Chrono V3

Interesting discussion for me as new foil kiter. I've only flown the hyperlink 9 UL. Today was constant 14 knots and it was magic for me. Out 2 hours. Last 7 sessions in a row on the hyperlink... I don't see need for bigger one really because winds 8 -10 knots here are having deep lulls. Like today ...

Re: Hyperlink size recommedation

Yesterday, before I got the hyperlink 9m, I would have been on my 7m North Mono. And it would have been much more jerky and difficult due to rough water state. In 20 knots+ I'll always have landing help, there's either other kiters or beach helpers when travelling. My friend has levitaz cruiser and ...
