Re: North Pro Session Surf chop

I'm 5-8 and 75-80 kg. I ride in chop and windwaves, and make my own boards after riding slingshot celeritas and space pickle for 3 years. My favourite board is a Tomo Evo typ shape 4-10 x 18 3/4" with 13 liters volume. It has concave deck and is thin in the middle with quad concave bottom. Quads wor...

I started making it with the mindset that there can't be that much force on it. Then I thought of the situation where I might get an unintentional centerline ( power line) release. Meaning the Cl will snap up at high force. If that happens, it's going to fly out of my hands for sure onto the leash.

I have a label with my name, cell # and e-mail on my kites, bar, board, even inside my helmet. It may help in recovering lost items and the worse case scenario.....

BWD, I've not used the bar yet. I'm sceptical to use it as failure could be dangerous. I researched online for failure testing and Switch was using 180 kg x 100 cycles. but, the used a wide webbing to transfer load. I agree with your thoughts. I'm going to put 180 kgs on it static, once I figure out...

Re: Top speed of a Moses 633 SUP wing combo (the Onda)

I thought it was variable amount of lift at variable AoA. Then at certain AoA lift decreases, a stall. Some wing designs, thus curve is falling drastically and deep, like cliff. Other wings the curve is more like a hill.
The cliff curve is difficult to recover from, the hill is easier.

Re: Help me complete my quiver: 80 kg rider

You're new to the sport, and want to maximise your time on the water. Especially if travelling. You'll end up dealing with winds 10-25 knots, and feeling comfortable in them. I'm same weight as you, but been kiting since 2002. It's important to use similar kites across your quiver in the first years...

Na, Toby. Having North kites will brand you as an Old School Old Boy.
One of those guys that does huge airs and board offs, and twirling tricks with the board....and those Jesus walks.
