Re: Moses 2018

Tom Tom, Yes, I would go for the 633 set up with new fuselage and 483 stab to komplement the 550. The 590 is great, but 633 is better for next step. It will cost 800€, the 590+330 is probably 400€. Had a great session this evening in 5-6ms on it with a 13m Sonic 2 kite. A great combination! What a s...

Re: Moses 2018

Tom Tom, Good luck on Gotland. You'll have to dedicate yourself to learning on that set up. But you can do it! Board is nice and stable. The 590/330wing will be way easier. You should look to getting that setup Asap. Those other wings will still be fun later on. You will not regret getting the 590 /...

Re: Lets discuss ear protection

I think you should try the Stanley self molding ones. I molded some new ones and was careful to use a bit less of the material, and not push it into ear canal. So they mostly just sit in the outer ear and only slightly into ear canal. This keeps water out, let's some sound in.
Super comfortable.

Re: New foil kite in a hail storm

Ikea Bag. The blue ones. Wrap a line around the outside of it.
I used to do this for side launch of LEI.

Re: New foil kite in a hail storm

I’m sorry that is a crazy way to try and self land! If you have a tether / stake what is wrong with flying to the edge of the window right next to the ground, pulling back lines / brake line to get it right on the ground, keeping back lines under tension and then just ambling over and laying it out...

Re: Moses 2018

@TomW: Does you pocket board have standard mount position? (~28cm from tail) How much rocker does your board have? I will make a pocket board at some point and wondering if I need rails or fixed mount will be OK. Now have 550/330 but planning to get other wings later. My pocket board has rear foil ...

Re: Moses 2018

Went out second time today on 633 and pocket board. Wind was from good power to really light, almost to can't fly Hyperlink UL 9m kite. Was riding with a guy on a LF Impulse and 9m Storm Voyager. Water state choppy but only 0,5 m. We were both doing same speed. One run I was just behind him as he ro...

Re: New foil kite in a hail storm

Rename thread " Foil Ventures". Yesterday I went out at my local on my trusty Hyperlink 9m UL. I was quite overpowered, but wind was coming and going and flucky. Even lei TT guys had kites falling. Then mine fell 10m from beach while coming in, tacoed, inverted while I saved my foil from the rocks I...

Re: short lines

Looping to get going is one thing, but if you are talking about looping through a jibe, you can go with much shorter lines. I've seen a 21m race kite looped on 15m lines not problem through a foiling jibe. When you're riding under the kite as it loops, the kite can pretty much stay in the same spot...
