Eh, no need to insult me. I'm only 245 lbs!

Re: Mako Wide: low end?

I wasn't impressed with the wide's bottom end (part of the reason I sold mine), certainly no better than any other board with a similar width. But it all depends on your weight and how powered you like to ride.

Re: best kite for a big guy

Hey at 210 you're still tiny in my book... ;) I'll echo the top two comments. A decent 16-17 meter bow / sle will probably be fine for anything you'll run into. I use my Bularoo 16 in almost anything and I weigh 245, but for those super light sessions I pump up the Waroo 20m. At your weight, I don't...

Re: An inexpensive wave twin tip for a big guy

Glad you like your Mako Frank, I didn't. I gave it a half dozen sessions and it never worked well for me. The board just felt stiff yet not able to hold an edge. Yeah, I know what folks say about how you have to ride it like a snowboard but I'm a surfer, not a snowboarder. At any rate if we all like...

An inexpensive wave twin tip for a big guy

Just thought I'd share my experiences looking for a wave twin tip. I weigh 245 lbs (110 kg), have been kiting for 8 years and surfing my entire life. I only kite in the ocean, mostly downwinders and what I enjoy most is riding waves. I'll add that I tend to prefer to ride just slightly underpowered ...

Although I personally prefer flying SLE's, you gotta admit that the R&D that Harmin and his crew put into Flysurfers is pretty darn impressive.

Re: Who makes the toughest kites?

If by "toughest" kite you mean one that hold up the longest even after extended abuse, that would be the Peter Lynn Twin Skins line of kites (Arcs, Guerillas, Venoms, etc. etc.). These kites will never blow a bladder, never break a bridle line, can withstand enormous abuse on land, in the surf and a...

Re: Light wind technique - HELP PLEASE

I weigh 245 lbs (110 kg), ride a CrazyFly AllAround 145x49 and fly either my Waroo 20m or Bularoo 16m in light winds. Here's a couple tips I've learned that help in light wind: 1. Keep the kite flying. Avoid keeping the kite stationary, especially in lulls as this can cause the kite to stall and fal...

Re: Extra Tall Wetsuits?

Aleeda in California makes custom wetsuits ( http://www.aleeda.com/ ). They made me a custom 3/2 last winter (I'm 6'5" 245 lbs), quality is good and fit was perfect. Took about a 3 weeks from when I ordered it until it was received, which I thought was pretty reasonable. I highly recommend them, I p...
