Re: some proper Wave foiling with a Kite

... Define what wave foiling properly is? Is it trying to copycat surfing with a device that is never going to ride like a surfboard? .... My initial reaction is, why define it? You'll know it when you see it. It looks good and looks like something I would want to do, even if I can't do it The only...

Re: some proper Wave foiling with a Kite

I kind of agree. While this certainly is impressive riding, I don't see the point of foiling in these conditions. ... I agree with the comment, but you've got to start somewhere. If people don't go out in the surf and get experience then we'll never learn how to properly surf on a foil. Imagine a f...

Re: Moon on a stick?

Thinking that I want a new surfboard that I can surf, kitesurf, and attach a hydrofoil to when needed into a tuttle box on the board which I would have to router out. Does anyone do this, or am I wanting the moon on a stick? Short answer, of course you can. You can do anything you want. You just ha...

Re: Small modification to Moses T60 board idea - your thoughts?

Get some conical washers and countersunk screws. The washers are pulled down into the deck pad and you're left with a smooth flat surface to stand on. You can still feel them with your feet so you've got tactile feedback for foot placement.

Re: Splicing kite lines for beginners

Yes. Or a bent piece of wire will do the job.

BTW A chord is a set of notes played together. A guitar string is a piece of wire.

Re: Splicing kite lines for beginners

Those hook things are garbage. The gate o the hook catches in the fibres of kite line and make a mess. For thin kite lines a guitar string is best. For thicker lines the D-splicer is excellent. https://d-splicer.com/ The D splicer scissors are also very good. They make cutting the line neatly very e...

Re: Carbon Mast Insert repair?

I am not super impressed with that insert. It relies on it's shape and the glue for strength. There's no easy way to replace it. It looks over designed and under thought. What's wrong with a simple stainless steel barrel nut? I have over 200 hours on my mast with no noticeable wear and tear to the i...

Re: How good do you have to be to foil?

My mate and I learned to foil in 6 hours spread over 10 or so sessions. We're very experienced kiters but I wouldn't call us particularly "good". The key to learning is to focus on foiling. The biggest mistake is that people look at the conditions and decide it's a good day for TT or surfboard. They...

Re: The stagnant foiler.

I'm a bit confused. On this thread you talk about going hard and big waves and speed and stuff. On other threads you say you can't do a foiling gybe. How does that work? How do you ride these big waves if you can't turn in and out of them or carve around on them?
