Re: iksurfmag declares OR Rise "biggest jumping kite"

Hands up who buys these kites? i have seen maybe 1 0r 2 in the Last 8 Years of kiting? Terry, I know you ride in Australia and completely agree, we lack proper distribution there and are actively seeking more dealers to work with! The issue arises with the fact that currently these dealers need to ...

Kite spots in U.S. - November?

I'm heading overseas next year for 3.5 months and will be in the U.S. in November/December. Are there any spots, perhaps a bit further south, where you can still kite in November without having to wear heavy wet suits, etc.? Will most likely be in California, Colorado and Oregon but might be able to...

Re: Bow kites 100% bullshit

Our beautiful uncomplicated uncrowded beach has had an influx of newbie "bow kiters" in the past 12 months. Soccer moms, kids, dogs, and everything else running around between kite lines on the beach while parent is out there conquering their new bow kite. I say be gone with the bow it was safer for...

Re: Rumors of below-bar safety for Ozone '09

That's rubbish. Sh_t happens from time to time even when you're an experienced kiter. Having one more decent safety option (that works with the bar setup not against it) up your sleeve in the event that poop hits the fan just makes good safety sense. Knowing when and how to use them is equally impor...

Re: Rumors of below-bar safety for Ozone '09

I've been in a few situations where I connected my safety to the dedicated suicide ring but where letting go of the bar and unhooking wasn't enough. It's nice knowing you have the ability to pretty much kill the kite's power if needed, but not at the expense of having your safety line interfere when...

Ditto.

It would be great if Ozone could release an upgrade kit for the 08 bar (and even greater before the new bar is released :D ).

Re: North Queensland, Australia: Kite Spots & info

Yeh, you're right. Don't come here. Too many hazards...I've had to swap my kite to one that's more speed kite oriented just to make my get-a-way... :o

Re: where to move in australia

We have a pretty good local spot in Townsville (Palleranda). Having said that, we have been getting more 10>15 knot days than 15>20+ lately... :( Check out this website for more information on kiting spots in the North Queensland area. There is also Alva Beach to the south, and lately some of the lo...

Ozone below the bar mod

Has anyone modified their 08 Ozone bar so that the front line flag out has been extended so safety line can be attached below, rather than above, the bar? I thought about tying another piece of rope to the red flag out loop which sits above the bar and then running this new section of rope thru the ...
