Re: Impending trade war: Tariffs affecting the kite industry?

China and EU don't want the trade war Trump is so eager to start. The only way of influencing this guy seems to be via his voters... I’m guessing you’re pretty confident that you have unbiased sources upon which you base your assertions, and that you’re pretty confident you’re right. You speak as i...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

There can be a huge difference between what I might like to believe (because it might make me feel good about myself) and what I should believe (because it’s supported by actual evidence or rational thought processes). There are many things I wish would be true (using feelings instead or rational th...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

👍 on Allen West. Amazing individual. Intelligent and of the highest integrity. And another few 👍’s on Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams since you’re mentioning people who know how to clearly articulate a point (and who also use their brains for thinking and save their feelings for actually feeling)....

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

First of all, not a single reputable climate scientist are self-appointed. These are people that have credentials from universities, usually a PhD, who published in peer reviewed journals and that have decades of expertise working on the specific topic they are working on. It is literally the oppos...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

I like an alternative to some self appointed authority telling me “the science is settled” and “the discussion is over.” I like an alternative to the arrogance of people who are unwilling to admit that what they declare as “reality” and “truth” are really theories, yet are very willing to put people...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

I do not tend to call people names, but I will stop replying to people like him because there is no rational conversation to be had. No response is a very good approach when the prospect of a rational conversation seems unlikely. Better than wasting your time and beating your head against a wall. T...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

It’s so much more convenient do simply dismiss someone as racist, misogynist, ageist, gendrist or (fill in prefix of choice)-ist than to go through that pesky process of actually engaging in conversation.

So nice to sneak in a little hint of racism with your bitternes! Beautifully delivered. You should get a nice, comfortable safe space awarded to you for your originality.

Re: how long is too long?!

I've tried up to 33m in ligh winds with thicker lines on 11m tube. I prefer 30m with race lines and 65cm bar in similar conditions. I didn't feel a huge difference in 30 to 33m in speed or power. In really light winds the margin is very small and it depends on how "light" you're referring to. What ...
