Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

This thread is all about losing the CLs but a lot of good info on QRs and slide setups here. Read a very sad story of a kiter who could not release his shackle and thought I’d share it here since a few posts/designs had incorporated wichard/shackle QRs. There are different "wichard" snap shackle de...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

These bars I made buying cheap chinese carbon tubes. Biggest one is 22ID, 25OD and 60cm wide. In the center there is reinforcement about 15-20cm. All the way to 15mm. So the carbon is 1cm thick around the whole. Just glued those tubes together with good epoxy. Waited few days and then drilled the h...

Over the past few weeks they increased the price by $100. I’m kind of disappointed, because I don’t think anything changed other than a little positive press.
Good old capitalism which provided most of us with the means to live a privileged life that includes kiteboarding. Embrace it.

Complete Tear ACL

I had it done after a player tackled me from behind playing soccer. My legs were very strong, but I did not want the extra stress put on other parts of my knee. I believe getting it fixed was the right decision. I have averaged 3+ soccer games a week for the last 18 years since the surgery. Probably...

Re: Woo 3.0 and iWatch 3?

I tested Woo 3.0 with Android watch and it is unusable on water. Any splash of water causes watch to exit Woo app and go to a Clock screen. I think watch treats it as a "palm gesture". In short, it works OK as long as you never fall :naughty: Here is a short video demonstrating the problem: [youtub...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

BTW I think this topic is completely appropriate for this forum for many reasons, but the main one: Rising sea level can be viewed as the future Number 1 Access Limitation that faces the sport. Beach already skinny? Try adding more water and see if that helps. Anybody enjoy launching directly out o...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

This is a stressful read to me. There are an incredible amount of weird claims and assertions here. If we agree that science is our best bet at understanding the world, then why not just follow the scientific facts on this? A huge consensus of actual experts say we influence the environment in a ne...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

So you can afford to pay an additional $500 on top of your vacation costs to assuage your guilt over contributing to global warming. It seems that every hand wringing solution to Anthropomorphic Global Warming is one that widens the divide from the haves from the have nots. Each solution makes energ...
