Re: Please help: stop the ban in Miami Beach

This is not practical in warm water beach locations as they are often crowded to the point of there being 1-20 people in ever 50ft square. Of course it is not always practical to maintain even a 50Ft buffer while getting on and off the beach, but the rule implies that all a rider needs to do is mai...

Re: Please help: stop the ban in Miami Beach

50 feet is actually the IKO recommended distance funny enough. Interesting... I am surprised that 50 ft is the standard. I kite in Washington and Oregon. Most places AFAIK it is recommended to be at least a kite line length away. All that is needed is for a kite and lines to fall on a swimmer and t...

Re: Please help: stop the ban in Miami Beach

50 feet from swimmers assumes that nothing will happen. If you get a 50 foot rule, you will be right back here defending another ban.

Kite boarders should be more than their line lengths away from swimmers at a minimum

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

My intention for having a line run from hip to hip was to find out how much range you would use if you had much more than the typical spreader bar with a sliding line. My experience told my that you don't really need more sliding range than a Dynabar or similar allows. That's against my experience....

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

Hard shell of the harness can spread the load from the kite even in the absence of spreder bar. A line with a slider ring, attached to shell at both sides and a wide velcro on your belly should help your toeside ride upwind significantly. Light, comfortable, less expensive. Thats my dream harness. ...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

Probably depends on how unusual someone's body is. However, the real value is in the hard shell that distributes the pressure much better. I've owned both the original custom RE and a new 2017 production RE. They have both worked perfectly for me. The production model is way more refined and just a...

Re: What was your "Holy shit, why didn't I start doing this sooner?"

When I finally tried new kites after being convinced that I would not notice the difference between my 2006 Waroos and newer kites. I still fly a full quiver of 2008 Best HPs. The 10m is money, but it is getting tired

Re: A comfortable long lasting harness

Ride Engine but demo first for proper sizing. It is great with a dynabar IMHO
