yes, airtime, you are absolutely correct. proximity of the mountains plus chinook makes weather predictions unreliable. forecasts are good in terms of temperature, but with regards to winds or snow it's a bit ridiculiuos. of course if it is nuking forecast one can be assured that it will be at least...

yes, to launch 2 line kite solo on grass or sand or snow in light wind is piece of cake. just forget about two line kites on ice. it is impossible and unsafe. and more ice it is more unsafe it is.
