I noticed in the R3 video, when releasing the bar and activating full depower, that the kite sits on its tip at the edge of the window waiting to relaunch. Did i see right, will the kite just sit on its tip at the edge of the window with no bar input? Does that mean it has bow like relaunch capabil...

You can limit it by 1. Pumping the LE up as hard as possible 2. Avoid using sudden depower - keep pressure on the rear lines, shorten depower line or use a stopper. 3. Ride like a C kite - ie in strong winds keep the kite up high and/or edge rather than just depowering to its max and dropping it ri...

They are that is why the 2007 waroo doesn't deform I tried the 2007 Waroo in Brazil for a short session and was fairly impressed (i have owned 3 2006 waroos in past), but that was the 9m in about 20knots...so would be good to get some feedback from a heavy rider who has pushed the 9m above 30knots ...

Re: kite deformation in high winds

Demo the R7 10m in 30 knots. Rigid like an airplane wing and 30 knots is cake for that kite. Demo's are hitting all distributors right now. Forget small kites. You just need a really good kite. I guess that is the 2007 Rhino, yes i will be interested in quite a few new kite releases including other...

Thx for the response. Yes i have heard of limiting the movement of the pulley, but if that was the best sollution surely the designers would be using it.

kite deformation in high winds

I have been having a few kite problems in high winds with smaller kites such as 7m (2007) and 9m (2006) when out in high winds 28+ knots. The kites are flat kites...names not mentioned. Kites pumped up to just about exploding point. I am about 95kg on a 135x40 board. My 9m (which i sold a while back...

I just spent 2 weeks between Port Alfred and East London at a private holiday place with no other kitesurfers, had a great time. Definately dont leave your small kite behind, i'm 95kg and used my 7m bow just as much as my 12m as there were serious wind most of the time.

sounds good, just checking as with my latest kite you can actually see where they have doubled up on the stitching and material on the main LE seam. Hope you have a wicked time testing it out!! I met up with Jeremy in Brazil who is sponsored by OR and he was kicking arse on the 06 version of this ki...
