I'm looking for a place to go kitesurfing this weekend. Pretty much anywhere in North America is an option. The spot would need to be within an hour or two of a major airport. I'll be flying from UT...so the shorter the flight the better. Where should I go?

Where are the best kitesurfing destinations in September? Obviously...consistent wind is the most important factor of the trip...but I'm also looking for somewhat of an adventure.

Wind? It's Padre...! I was there last year in early April and had 11 out of 13 days on the water. Watch out for Easter weekend. It's like a Mexican spring break..family style. The island is packed for that weekend. This year it's on April 8th. It doesn't effect the riding at the flats, but the ocean...

Can it be done? Not having LE pads on seams I would prefer not having it sliding around to much if possible. Since the high season is over and all beaches are free and many times empty and I have to self start&land the kite , after doing it several times a day ( testing self landing in strong winds...
