Re: Unhooked wave kiter - need new kite

I don't want to ride waves hooked into anything, simple as that. Sliding spreaders look cool, but I want the freedom of body that only unhooking gives. There is nothing like a huge drawn out frontside bottom turn with the kite coming across the window towards the wave, held and pulled by the free an...

Re: Unhooked wave kiter - need new kite

No, I'll probably go stock bar setup. I'm getting older and its pretty demanding dealing with gusts using those pulley bars. I loved the setup with the pulley bars when on the wave. the rest of the time, not so much.....starsky, I remember your name on the forum from many years ago,,, that is a grea...

Unhooked wave kiter - need new kite

Hi - Traditionally, I have been surfing waves while been flying 9,7,5 airush generators (c-kites) on old school pulley bar with regular surfboard, generally unstrapped. Have had a few years off .....a trip has come up to wave-kite and am interested to get into new kite combo that can be flown around...

Re: Generators

Is this right, 5 line only? If this is true, very disappointing, how the heck am I supposed to use my pulley bar on this kite, I have to have a 4-line capable kite? Also, looks like the battens remain at the tips, anyone know?? Is this a one pump? I need some answers, seems like this kite is headed i...

Re: Board leash for wave riding

The dozen or so zip ties are held in place by one cinched tight zip tie that encircles them all and secures them to the ring. No littering or plastics in the ocean... broken ties are discarded in the can after the session... Ronnie - to answer your question, no snap back. I played with the tubing an...

Board leash for wave riding

Here's a leash I made for myself and used a good bit last winter in large waves. Thought is might be good for a look and comment, or someone else might like the idea for themselves. It worked really well and was quite safe. The spot I was riding has a very dodgy inside wind, with a wind shadow and s...

Batten for Kite - End Piece?

Hello -

Looking to replace a batten on my kite wingtip (generator).

Anyone know what this flat insert piece at the end is called? It's glued into the end of the hollow batten.

Anyone know where to get one??

Thx. in advance, Silver Bullet

Re: I joined the generator death cult the other day

Hey Hein - that is one sweet looking pulley bar. I have some of my own, they are much more crude, but work great. I wrapped them with hockey tape as you suggested, awesome grip. I have a question, I have pulleys that are going bad on various bars over time, and want to see if I can buy a new pulley ...
