Re: How to self launch a kite

As you say, nice video & I'm sure that is fine for hydro-foiling (i.e. lighter winds), but for me 12m means 20-25knots and a kite held with a tiny sand bag would disappear off down wind

Re: Any news from Woo HQ ?

I saw this and thought I would share my experience, as I had a weird thing going on with my stats going off all the WOO leader-boards. I emailed WOO and had very prompt responses & given the advice to simply delete the WOO app & reinstall (DOH should have though of this!). Problem solved & all worki...

Re: Casualty in Sicily

RIP to the rider/friends & family From the location footage showing the clouds, this should have triggered everyone to stop any launches, with all kiters coming in & getting their kites down asap. With experience, strong gradient winds are fine, but squall activity is dangerous - if you are in doubt...

Re: Barbados in November ?!

I've been in November three times - kited or surfed every day at Silver Sands & up the E Coast - had a couple of mornings with rain & went fishing.

Re: Len10 - Captain Carbon

Just noticed that Simon at Nomad is knocking out carbon/"spectra" boards for close on €2,000 ! But at least this is for a custom board. Made me think back 15years or so when Tad Ciastula started making boards with this new wonder-material Had one of Tad's tinkler tails. First tail broke after 30 mi...

Re: Best Waist Harness for Overpowered Riding?

Everyone's body is different. Choose whatever is most comfortable. I usually ride with 1 or 2 inches slack in my harness and rely on keeping the kite low so it doesn't ride up. I don't like the feeling of a tight harness. Do whatever feels right. I know Dimitri rides with 1 or 2 inches slack in his...

Sucks there is no standard, but there's always red tape.
What tape is recommended ? Bike handlebar tape? My NEW Ozone bar grip tape has started to come away after a week in hot temps

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

Hope the webbing strap and stitching is beefed up - 1st generation was a very comfortable harness, but the single attachment in the PU had too much upward movement and it tweaked my ribs on big boosting sessions and also the harness gave up after 9 months.
