Re: finfoil.io Designer software review

it will be a resin infusion carbon wing, laminated over a CAD milled core out of a polyurethane (140kg/m3, 1,8 -2 MPa). my guess is to use 6 layers 195 g/m2 twill weave, with 2 carbon stringers in the center. It would be great if you could post picts of your steps here especially how you make you C...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

Hey PrfctChaos, could you evaluate these sections according to your protocol ? They are praised for their low drag and AoA tolerance with UAVs. Curious to see what these slightly reflexed profiles could bring to hydrofoils. https://www.aerodesign.de/profile/phoenix.txt 8.2% https://tracfoil.com/airf...

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Looks exciting! Any videos? Possibly on the LIFT Instagram account where this pict has been taken from in April 2019. Does that work out of the box - or is some hacking needed? They are not sold as is yet. Maybe in 2021. You'll have to send them an email. A few projects like this on the DiY scene f...

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

What I would like to see here is a folding engine - (...) One way that might work is having the engine mounted in the front, on a bar that pivots on the nose of the board. Once you catch a wave, push down the bar (or just let go: the default should be engine turned off and out of the water) to lift...

Re: Powered towing

The concept was introduced 7 weeks ago (Sep 2nd) on the efoil.builders DiY forum, time needed by Damien LEROY (or LIFT) to "adapt" or redevelop their shortest efoil board (Dec 10th). https://foil.zone/t/electric-tow-boogie/9844 https://foil.zone/t/valhalla-s-tow-boogie-ebuild/11059 According to the ...

Re: Russian Bar Control System for hydrofoil

Nice idea. To save a finger (or two). The light and foldable version could be made with a short piece of Dyneema line and a piece of wood.

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

OK, then. And what has just happened - the Lift is suddenly $2000 off. Must be a coincidence Do you mean you can get a brand new LIFT efoil for 10K$ today ? Since 2018, they've always been at 12k$ and they still are on the official LIFT site and on retailer's: https://www.realwatersports.com/product...

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Waydoo funded by DJI and Takuma. Both maintain their reputation. I doubt very much that Takuma is a Waydoo partner since Takuma have launched their own efoil brand called eTakuma in Europe and Avante in the US. TAkuma launched their efoil in July 2019, and Waydoo in July 2020 with a Kickstarter cam...
