Re: Mako King

It would be great if Ocean Rodeo would experiment with more flex in the Mako line-up. That is probably my biggest complaint with the Mako is that the board is so stiff.

Re: Fast turning kites

Hard to say Windmaker what those changes in the front bridle would do. It would probably impact bar pressure, as I would imagine there is more leverage for one of those two front bridle configurations. In bridling a kite there is theoretically a neutral pivot point for powering and depowering. Meani...

Re: Fast turning kites

Without trying to get too technical, it seems to me that most kites are deformed in order to make them turn. The wing structure, or airframe, is pulled mainly from one rear trailing edge on one wingtip, but in the process of pulling on that one wingtip the opposite side of the kite is opened up defo...

Re: The safest kite / bar system out there?

I have to say I don't like the plastic molded pieces incorporated in bar release systems these days. Maybe they are fine, but I don't want to potentially risk my life if a plastic piece breaks. I recently have seen plastic swivels, which to me is just asking for trouble. Once you introduce sand and ...

Re: New strap system! Rotatable Footstrap Plate - turn your foot

I would love to see this system as a base plate designed to mount almost any of the current strap type bindings on the market. For example I would love to mount a set of LF Luxury straps complete with footpads on a swivel base like this. The footpads could act as the friction against the board neces...

Re: types of kiters ;)

The I have the right of way dude: These people won't budge from kiting on a wave that last 20 feet before the wave completely closes out, even though it puts other kiters in danger of getting wiped out in the impact zone, because they won't at least place their kite high or low to allow the out-goi...

What Does It Take To Be Successful In This Business?

I was going to respond with this post under the " Horrible marketing job 2010 Cabrinha Crossbow " title, as there were some comments there that prompted this for me, but I thought it better not to further hijack that thread with this information. I think Dimitri really has the formula for success in...

Re: Horrible marketing job 2010 Cabrinha Crossbow

I think the biggest mistake Cabrinha has made over the years is to expect people to pay that kind of cash for basically the same type and quality of kite you can get for almost half that price with other brands. $2,000 for any single kite setup is way over the top IMO. Think about the level of profi...

Re: Epic + Dimitri

Thanks Toby. I think you strike a great balance in moderating this forum. I'm not a big fan of censorship, and from watching your moderator skills over many years I don't think you fancy it either. But certain things like hate posts, and personal information just don't belong on a forum like this IM...

Re: Epic + Dimitri

that is so not cool listing personal info without the persons permission. I totally agree. It doesn't matter that it is publicly available information, there is plenty of private information you can find out about people on the Internet, and that is no excuse to post it without the other person's p...
