Re: LE stitching stretches / is widening. Need to worry?

Here’s another option. Cut up a Dacron patch (I have some white Dacron to spare, btw), then clean the area and glue it with Sikaflex 291i. I did this before (strut seam, similar issue) and the patch held without problems. The only issue is that the Sikaflex is a bit expensive, and I couldn’t buy ju...

Re: Do you step off gracefully?

naw carbon is too expensive to be a trickster. I judge the depth and bail or stall the foil and walk off then roll the board over and walk it in looks graceful enough and doesnt risk breaking anything. Sometimes when water depths drop over known hidden secrets aka boulders I'll high mast it and bail...

Re: LE stitching stretches / is widening. Need to worry?

Send it out for repair. If you ever see bladder coming out of dacron the pressure energy will be pushed directly to that spot resulting in a POP!. Think dacron as the tire and the bladder is the tube. once exposed it pops. If you use tearaid make sure to put it on the inside and outside of the LE to...

Re: Leading Edge of Kite is Slowly Deflating

Thanks. I always lay the kite out fully before inflating and didn't notice any sand or debris getting in the valves. How would the soapy water leak test work if the leak is in the bladder inside? sounds totally wrong i know. dacron is not airtight the bladder PU should BE! the soap trick works ever...

Re: Leading Edge of Kite is Slowly Deflating

i've had some weird deflates like what you describe. First thing is did you lay the kite out tip to tip to inflate? or did you pump letting it unroll/unfold itself? as it rolls it self out while pumping sometimes it can pull the bladder tips out of the sheath and pop it. after that age, prickles, st...

Re: Who's (still) riding fast foils?

I DO!! Ever since getting proficient on the foil my need for speed is growing. Finally last season got a sick used LP carbon foil with 2 wingset. Fast and ludicrous speed. I like to jump super high and have the least amount of drag possible when exiting the water. I also like as tall of a mast as po...

Re: Issues with screw-in "Boston" valve

Cant you get the correct adapter that screws onto the threads of the boston valve? I used to use those push it in hope it stays while pumping type valves then wmfg came out with the adaptor that screws direct to the valve making it 100% leak proof and popping out proof. Now the airport valve on nort...

Re: High Y Bars suck, Duotone, Core, Fone SHAME SHAME SHAME

Unfortunately this is soley because of lack of experience. hate to say it but low v or high v nothing changes much. all of the above mentioned issues are easily mitigated without incident. I do agree that mini 5ths are worthless and dangerous in serious conditions. (epic bar comes to mind total garb...

Re: North Speedster GT Combo

I have this wing.(along with several others :D ) It will do exactly what your intentions are. You can take it pretty low but not as low as say a surf wing. You can still also go fast but not as fast as a higher aspect wing. Its a middle of the road set. The winglets help keep it on track so its pret...

Re: Trying to get into Kiteboarding is this a good deal?

Its a great deal if they are paying YOU 800$ to take it away from them and dispose of it properly. That stuff is old really really old. package deals are tough unless they are kite quivers. The bar is old looks like a old school safety. The harness looks like its from the 80's windsurf conversion, h...
