Yeah, John does love his Waroo. Nice kite. I made a few diverging comments on this "test" over here: http://www.seattlekitesurfing.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5776&start=0 Oh, and I don't think I saw anybody go over 30ft, but I can't really tell absolute altitude anyways. purdyd, test for yourself. R

Re: rhino 6 questions???? HELP.

i have just started using my new RHINO 06`s after using fuels for the last 2 years.Firstly, in terms of performance they have been a revelation compared to the 05 fuels but thats not what the post is about. What i need to know is: 1: When are North going to make a press release about the bar issues...

... Ok. The evolution of birds and planes is driven/hindered by factors other than theoretical efficiency. The evolution of kiteboard kites has certainly been no different in that regard. We've seen large performance increases over the last 6+ years but always in the context of improved useability....

But the big picture keeps getting missed, and that's aerodynamic efficiency. Flatter kites are more efficient by design, so reasonably optimized, they will outperform C-kites, whose shape was derived to avoid extensive bridles or twist and to facilitate water relaunchability. As I've said before, t...

my feeling is R6 16 has the turning speed of Vegas 5 16. I can jump in lower winds and with more speed going into as redirection of the kite is significantly faster than R5 16 ... Agreed. :thumb: My only complaint is that I need more wind to drive same angle upwind given same board. R6 likes boards...

Re: SS Octane vs Rhino6 ????????????

Now that the new Octanes are out too this is the logical question: who's tested them and compared them to the new Rhinos ? Which kite reigns supreme ? Testing is an overstatement, I had one session on each. I rode an Octane a few weeks ago in the gorge. It was flying far forward in the window. Jump...

I have the 2005 Thorn and it is indeed the best board I have ever had.... Interesting feedback on some of these boards. I rode both the 05 Thorn and 06 Sol briefly at a demo event. I thought the Thorn was pretty underwhelming. Can't even put my finger on what it was. I just hated it. The Sol on the...

conversely though, so much of a C kite (like 80%) is producing power in a direction other than the direction that you want the power to be (away from the rider). This means there is a hell of a lot of drag and forces that are not helping in any way whatsoever. Vide, This argument is the oldest in t...

Re: North M2 Will pro L 2005

Upwind. Wave. Allround. Pop. Any experience whit this board? Yes. I rode this board a few times earlier this summer. It's super fun, very efficient upwind. A much better light wind ride than the big ass twin tips. It's even easy to jibe. Never used it in waves. Only reason I didn't get it was sever...

I rode the 12 in the gorge last weekend. It's a big time jumping kite. North and Slingshot are on to something with those LE battens. (I've also had a few sessions on the Rhino 6 16). I'll agree with Ian-H on all points. It's not a wave kite and I did notice that "bar talk" as well. I haven't flown...
