Re: Tulum Mexico first hand reports?

I've been a few times and I loved riding there. Mostly onshore winds but there's lots of beach so nothing to worry about. Not too many kiters so you don't have to worry about crowds too much. The water is fairly flat to the North by the ruins where extreme control is, to the South you have bigger wa...

Re: Tulum / Playa Del Carmen - December winds?

The winds can be all over the place, but check out wind guru for forcasts. I generally rent equipment any place I dive, but if you plan to dive in cenotes, I'd suggest bringing your own reg. Don't want to run into equipment problems when you have nothing but stalagtites over head! Lots to see and do...

Re: Cancun/Tulum for New Years?

I was in Tulum last January and would highly recommend it! The beaches are similar to Cancun but much more quiet. My girlfried and I stayed at La Nueva Vide De Ramiro in a beach front cabana and loved it. Staff were very helpful, many resteraunts close by and the rates were reasonable. Every morning...

Re: where to snowkite b.c.

Pulled this off skypilotkiteboarding.com BC forum. Quote Green Lake and Alta Lake. Both are in the Whistler valley but you will need a car to get to them. Quote As far as locations, Green lake is just past whistler, not far at all and a common snowkiting location. Unfortunately Whistler doesn't free...

Re: Tulum Mexico Travel Report!

I was in Tulum in February myself. What a great trip! I kited at the spot shown in the pics, by Extreme Control and also at the wave spot a few miles south by La Zebra. The waves proved a little too much for me but I still had fun doing downwinders there. For anyone going I highly recommend getting ...

Re: Harness Sizing

I have a 32 waist and use the medium LF harness and find it a good fit. The thing is I like to use an impact vest and I also use the same harness over top of my jacket when snowkiting. I would say that if you want it for summer only and don't use a vest the small would fit you fine.

[quote="montanna"]Hey Crispy,
This method also makes it easier for the launcher to handle the kite.

Yeah, it sucks if you're launching someone's kite and you have to fight to hold it down because the kiter walks upwind of you while getting into position.
