Started in summer 1999 with a 2 lines Wipika 8.5 and a directional F-0ne 2.30 (the yellow one ;-)). This was shit, at least for me as I had no clue how to use this gear correctly, being the only one kiting in the area. Everything got into place after getting a Naish AR5 one year later, with 4 lines ...

Curious what word is used when the water is totally mirror flat because there is no wind (at the surface) ? In German the similar word most often used is "Flaute", for "No wind at all". From my experience by having tried many different type of boards (sometimes in different sizes for the same model), I can tell that volume matters … as I know now that a volume of 25L is what work best for me (82kg). The 3 last boards I got in my quiver are: - HB Lafayette 5'10 => 25.1L - FIrewire V...

I put 8cm fins on my Shinnster when I use it in waves => Better carving and driving ability… but still loose and skaty :D
