Re: Some boards I made

Hi Guys Hollow brings up a great point here, the "human factor" involved in riding a board. One thing I've noticed is that no two riders use a board in the same way! This became very clear to me when I let people try my home made boards. I would "brief" them on how to ride a particular board and the...

Re: Some boards I made

Hi guys Glad my dimpled surface experiment has generated such interest! All I can tell you is that my dimpled surface boards "feel" much nicer than a factory smooth finish when riding. Now we did conduct a "base line test" if you want to call it that, when several of us at my local beach rode my boa...

Which Caribbean Islands have wind right now?!?

Hi Guys

I have a week off and want to get away for a quick kiting trip to the Caribbean somewhere? I was wondering which Islands would give me the best chance of some good kiting? Intermediate safe kiter.
Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated!!!
Leaving soon, very, very soon!

Thanks

Chris

Actually, I wrap a strand of carbon tow around the perimeter of the boards, then glass over them in a bag, works great!
You do have to be more careful with them over a production board that has proper rails, but my first board that I made three years ago is still going strong.

Another view of my son's new board.
Because this is a "normal" sized board, the pads are located on the centre-line of the board, permitting easy toeside riding as well.

Re: Some boards I made

Lawnmower Kami is correct, the offset pads makes it a lot easier to edge such a large board. I'm 165lbs and can hold these Doors down in quite high winds, more that I ever thought I could! Bellow is my latest board, a smaller one for my 13 year old son. Utilizes the same type of construction as the ...

Malta Kiteboarding schools

Hi

I have a buddy that is going to be in Malta for a couple of weeks in October and he wanted to take some lessons. Does anyone have any info on schools there?

Thanks

Tucker I'll be there the same time and a week before, and I'm staying just north of you in Rodanthe. I usually bring everything I've got as far as rubber is concerned as you never know what you'll get in Hatty. At the worst a 2-3mil full suit for the ocean side and probably be riding in shorts on th...

BWD Having been involved in the aircraft design business for over 30 years has been rather interesting for me to say the least. Everything from structural design and assembly to flight testing of new aircraft designs has taught me to have an open mind when applying established theories to nonstandar...
