A rigid frame will have a wide range of uncontrollable configurations that are capable of generating significant power. In this respect soft kites are significantly less dangerous.

Surely cutting the lines on a four line kite is a bad idea if the kite is still flying. The kite is not disabled until 3 lines are cut, yet it is out of control as soon as the first is cut....please hold still while i cut the second and third.... So what do you do? Crash the kite?
