Re: Casualty in Sicily

The news says that the kiter was "launching" (lanciando). Seems likely that he was launching the kite. To avoid more tragedies like these PLEASE DO NOT LAUNCH HOOKED IN. There is no sense in playing with a loaded gun, even less without knowing if the safety is on. Please do watch my video here or t...

Re: Duotone Rebel 2019

Kiteloop (megaloop, downloop) with Rebel 2017 (and I 2018 I tested) is fine, not much happening really since it pivots a lot. I have stalled my 2017 completely half-loop and broken my bar + ripped my harness but it was set up wrong (5th too long and Y too high). As long as you are a recreational loo...

Re: Beginner kite- Core XR5 or Naish Pivot

As a beginner you will be MUCH better off with a seat harness because you will not be doing handle passes, riding blind and such. Also you will REALLY appreciate not having your harness scraping your armipts all the time and bruising your ribs when you crash. As you advance you will probably be bett...

Re: First strapless ride on a surfboard - Diagnosis?

My 2c Have fun Do strapless if it's better in your conditions than strapped. Don't do it just because others are doing it (spoiler: it's usually not more fun than strapped. It's just different). And in any case when you lose your board every 10 minutes, GTFO the wave zone without spending 10 minutes...

Re: Need help duck tack exit planing

Nothing to see: I'd like to do the tack in the air or skimming the surface - not planting the back of the board in the water like the lady in the video, if possible. I wash out just as I finish the rotation, I'm all good to go in the new tack but no speed and power so I sink. or6: thank I'll try nex...

Re: Need help duck tack exit planing

Eh if I redirect aggressively while changing direction 180 deg to a new tuck then it becomes a jump; I'd like to be a smooth transition if I can

Need help duck tack exit planing

Hello just for fun I want to duck tack as a transition on my twin tip and it's really easy but I can never exit planing! I always sink to my knees. Could anyone point to videos or offer some tips. The move is: point upwind, slow down redirect kite as a normal direction change (180 degree change to g...
