Re: Harness replacement webbing

I have more than fair share of experience in breaking harnesses because I crash hard. Any hardware store will have better nylon webbing than you can get from a kite manufacturer at a fraction of the cost. Get it. Don't go to shoe repairers for the fix. All of my harnesses repaired by shoe shops brok...

Re: Italian Kitesurfer dies in Brazil

Googled Porto Seguro - seems to be a narrow beach with high vertical cliffs near the water edge. Maybe a rotor caused by sudden gust picked him up and threw him down? From the google pic it does not seem seguro to me...

Re: North Trust bar 2018

I'd stay away from using North lines (even free) and spend a few bucks on hi quality aftermarket Spectra (Amsteel, Liros etc.). It will take you 15 minutes to learn how to splice it (Google) and 1 hour to measure, cut and splice and install. Once you have used good quality spectra you won't go back ...

Re: Hard Wearing Low Stretch Lines

Q-power with figure or 8 loops, used one line set for about 10 years, been dragged underwater, crashlanded kiteloops, yanked every which way, dragged over rocks and beach garbage, deathlooped... still looks like new. I'm 90kg. Q-power just will not die. But Q-power stretches a little, not a lot but ...

Re: Fastest Turning Surf Kite?

If you want your kite to turn faster, just get a longer bar. You's be surprised how effective a 60cm bar can be, especially in waves where you need to recover the kite from wrong position in the window. YANK!!! Done!

Re: Impact vest for the family jewels

2 sets of boardshorts is enough to eliminate pain on reentry (either that or I've got b***s of steel.... yes it's probably the latter) Seriously if you want to go superprotect just buy a cheap pair of jeans 2 sizes too big for you (for comfort), cut the legs to taste and wear over your regular board...

Re: Cabrinha delamination

If you don't have access to a vacuum bag you could just place shopping bags or garbage bags full of sand on top of the board while the resin cures. Pressure helps make a stronger bond. You nay need to put some additional sandbags or other items under the board to make sure the rocker does not change...
