Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

Had a small onestrutvalve leak, probably from a hot car, turns out the air is leaking between the round patch and the plastic base of the connector. Cleaned it up and put some Aquaseal over the edge on the outside and spread it out to get some more coverage. Any one experience with this? Will it ho...

Re: Duotone Rebel 2019

"Lay pressure on the bar in a quick but gradual manner" Great advice! I have the same experience with 2017 and earlier Rebels. If you just yank and fishpole it, it starts the turn too late and is even more gutless. I think since it's fairly high aspect the tips can stall if you initiate the turn too...

Re: Fastest way how to set up your kite

Fastest way to setup you kite - do not disconnect your bar. Next week: pro tip how not to tangle your lines: wind them around the bar! Look the bar ends conveniently and mysteriously hold the line! Following week: tired of your feet slipping around your twintip board? You can buy footstraps or bindi...

Re: Another casualty in Italy

What I found on the web in Italian says that he was 63 years old, expert kitesurfer, lofted while returning to shore and collided against the breakwater wall There's a video of the location here: https://www.newsrimini.it/2018/10/incidente-in-acqua-muore-mentre-fa-kite-surf/ Condolences to the victi...

Re: Kite Lines: which ones are used by the pro?

How do Q lines handle rubbing from loops or back rolls? Most of my lines get frayed pretty fast from this. Jeff Howard did a video on Q lines and all that was needed for the ends was a figure 8 knot, no splicing of sewing needed. Q-power handles this extremely well - as in it won't be a factor at a...

Slappysan you are right. My only defense is that they ARE enormous fun. Why would anyone want to go strapless in crappy waves?

Re: Crap surf fun

As long as it's less than head high, I'd recommend a OR Mako 150 or a Shinn Speedball W18 (1014 or later model, with the stepped tail. There may be a few left for sale here and there). Insane fun.

Re: Board short harness

I've had Dakine, Ion and now Naish Targa shorts. Dakine: the old hammerhead spreader bar connect was a sad joke, kind of glad they fell apart after 6 months, otherwise comfy (I crash hard). I think they fixed the hammerhead for 2018. Ion: by far the best build quality, they started falling apart aft...

Re: 2019 Duotone Click Bar

Q power line from a wind of change in the USA. Reasonable shipping cost international. My Q-power bought 3 years ago still looks new.
