Re: What is the international signal for "Abort launch"?

I always thought it was screaming, jumping up and down flailing your arms around like a drunk chicken. Always works for me....

Re: Bar Sizing

Personally I like 60cm with my 12m because i like to chuck it around. 55cm OK. Too long bar on small kite is much better than too short bar on big kite. My sweet spot is 50cm for 5m, 55cm for 9m and 60cm for 12m. So a 50-55cm adjustable bar is most versatile I think.

Re: Duotone

SHIT they went back to the old schizoid / ADHD / had a spasm while holding the mouse color scheme. Just a bunch of color blocks thrown at the kite on the computer screen (hey look I don't know what I'm doing with the graphics!).... brings back nightmares of the pre-2014 North kites. I like the Duoto...

Re: Tips and Tricks to Repair Kites - add your experience!

I'm very interested in this fix as my kite still flies well but canopy is very weak. However years ago I tried a similar fix using spray-on engine lacquer (was recommended in a different forum) and there was no measurable benefit. But this was a different material than GregK is using! So I'd be very...

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice!

Deathloops on launch WILL happen in your kitesurfing career. it may be just a few bruises and a laugh, or a life in a wheelchair or worse. In my case it was a slight concussion and a broken rib... and I was wearing helmet and PFD. It was a perfectly normal launch like I have done 10,000 time before....

Re: Safety line slack under the Y, north trust bar 2013 5th

20cm is fine. It's critical that the safety line is NOT tight otherwise it's carrying the load of all 3 front lines and it's not designed to do that. OK to shorten it a bit if you want but I wouldn't bother.

Re: Officially announced: North becomes Duotone

Oh and bring back the real 5 line Rebel... that goes without saying. Totally agree. My 11m 2016 5th line Rebel is my top fav kite...I have a 12m 2018 and its a difference kite, just not as stable, direct and fun to fly IMHO. Fortunately I have the 2016 9m and 14m as well. Phew Oh and... make the ba...

Another video showing how to self-launch safely (unhooked) Just search youtube for the video title shown on top left Again, audio is in French, but you can just mute it if you want. Images are self-explanatory. [/img] Works in strong wind too (if you are getting dragge...
