Re: Low Aspect to High Aspect

Just a few sessions. Don’t believe everything you read here. The forum has become dominated by guys who seem to like slow turny stuff. I think it depends on where you live. Personally I love race foils for free riding. Once you have the skills they deliver amazing low end and speed and they jump to ...

Re: Advice on foil kite

for 12-17 knots a decent 9m LEI will be fine and is a lot less hassle. Unless you are racing or after max speed a foil kite is of little point. I have a 9m chrono v2. Its nice, but for freeriding no better than a 9m edge to be honest, although does hang a bit better in transitions. Its a notch down ...

Re: America's Cup 2021, the hydrofoil AC75

Cant wait for it. The tech they get from designing their T foils will directly influence kitefoils. The only thing I dont get is where are they going to get the power and the lever arm to hinge one of those foils down while underway. There seems to be no way you could get enough manpower to do that ...

Re: Worlds Top Kitefoil Racers Ready for Battle in Years Biggest Clash

I saw it the other day but can’t find it now. As I said almost all ML and Enata foils, one Banga (Nocher), one KFA, one Spotz, just a few Levitaz, can’t remember if there were any Swords, one Moses. But my memory may be a little inaccurate. Seems Levitaz has lost its popularity real quick.

Re: Worlds Top Kitefoil Racers Ready for Battle in Years Biggest Clash

Equipment list looks interesting. Almost all riders on ML or Enata. Just a few Levitas now. 6 months ago it looked a bit different. Its pretty cut throat for the manufacturers trying to get this market. Fortunes can rise and fall in less than a year. I wonder how much of the performance difference i...

Re: How to lift our foils steadily?

KFA mk3 is a super nice foil but takes a bit of getting used to. I moved from Spotz to KFA mk3 a while back and for a while found it difficult to ride compared to Spotz which is much smoother up onto the foil.. Now I love it but it is very sensitive to foot and track position. If you can find an exp...

Plate attachment for windfoil

Probably the wrong forum I know...sorry..but. I have a buddy who wants me to drop a couple of US fin boxes in his windsurf board so he can attach a Naish Windfoil. I have done this myself a couple of years back for my first kitefoil when I modded a Skillit to a plate adapter quite successfully. I dr...

Re: 7 kn of wind, who will win AC45F (America's cup boat) or kite foil?

i sat on the beach a few times last summer when there was not enough wind to launch and fly a 15m R1V1 and watched team NZ train at speeds that well exceeded 25 knots. The low end on those boats is pretty impressive, they probably were testing light wind foils. IMHO I think there is no contest. They ...

Re: Repairing carbon foils: spotz 2

Hah, I had written almost the exact same advice to you as Peter has posted so won't repeat it, but just to add this is a simple job if you know what you are doing. But if you don't you could really messs the foil up. So practicing on wood first is vv good advice. Check out some YouTube videos on fib...
