from all the pads that we have sold the LF comp are absolutely the best. well worth the price. there are others that are good but are much heavier.

Just put it around your neck and under the impact vest.
You can also use ipod / mp3 cases that have arm bands

Lately we've been trying these gloves for kiteboarding. They are neoprene gloves with velcro on wrist. They keep hands relatively warm. obviously the're not as warm as dry gloves or thick 4mm gloves, but much more comfortable and safe. when we were in munich I remember people using ropes tied to the bridge, it was summer so maybe there was less water in the river. Last time I was there though most of the rivulets were frozen solid.
