Check the video at about 1:35 you will see that lip lands right in the middle of the board.

You guys are all totally correct it is seriously dangerous kiting with leashes and I have the scars to prove it. The only reason I do it at his wave is because your board will go on the rocks 90% of the time after a wipeout. But if I'm on a beach break I never use a leash. I actually just wrote a sh...

And yes I have had a hit to the head, it was a only smallish cut that super glued back together. But I'm all to aware of the risks of kiting with a leggie/leash.

But at that wave your board goes on the rocks at lowtide.
