Re: North Reach: 2021 vs 2022/2023 model

I’ve got 6 Reach kites from 2020 to 2022. Although I believe they say the 2022 is lighter there is no appreciable difference between the 2021 and 2022. Both are great kites, save yourself $500 for sure!!

Re: Why winging is better than kiteboarding

One thing I know about chatgpt is that it frowns on excessive drinking. Remember kids drink in moderation! write a story about how someone who tried both winging and kiteboarding gave up both sports and took up bowling while drinking a little bit of beer. Be explicit about why he quit winging and q...

Re: Slingshot Raptor discontinued

Hi all, I was wondering why the slingshot raptor got discontinued. But can't find a lot on it. Does the kite have flats or issues apart from it not being popular? I have an 8m Raptor that I got at bargain price. The good part is that it is exceptionally good for strong gusty wind. The bad part it's...

Re: Slingshot Raptor discontinued

I can’t follow Slingshot’s lineup with all of the name changes. Why change the names of the kites if you have any pride in their design? Must kill the resale market too.

Re: Ocean Rodeo Mako

If you are on the Great Lakes and want to have fun on a twin tip in the waves at 35 knots - this is definitely your board!

Also, if the three I would hands down take the 150.

Re: Ocean Rodeo Mako

I rode Makos for a lot of years (140, 50, King). It’s not really fair to say it doesn’t jump well without being more specific. Yes, if you are in flat water doing pop style wake tricks then it is not a good jumper. BUT, if you just want big air it holds a huge edge against the kite and allows for bi...

Re: New Quiver

Hey, I have 6,8,9,12 and 13m Reaches, combination of 2020 and 2021 but I’ve flown the 2922 10m too. Fantastic kites. Unless you are blessed to be in a windy spot I would consider 7,10,13 for your quiver. The 13 is a killer kite, still pretty quick and light bar pressure while having great low end. Y...

Re: Upcoming from Oceanrodeo Aluula 2023

I got a chance to fly a Flite 14.5 in Aluula this summer, fantastic kite. Also got a chance to fly the 12m HL version of the Flite while in OBX, it’s also a great kite. So, both are great kites and I’ve been an OR customer in the past, but I’m not even considering their kites. Their pricing is fucke...

Re: TT choice for less wind but always chop

The yellow one with black polka dots (2014). The only Shinn board my kids and I didn’t like. We currently have a Shinn Monk and carbon Bronq that we love, and the new Superking 150 has been a great addition.

Re: TT choice for less wind but always chop

ktflyer381 is also good at knees?..can you put easy press on back leg?...how about nose diving?....thank you It’s a very smooth ride, I have 50 year old knees so that’s important. Absolutely no nosediving due to the bit of rocker it has. No spray as well which is a nice change from my old 146 which...
