Re: Wilmington Kiteboarding

You might be able to go south to Carolina Beach or Kure Beach and get good conditions. Check with a local kite shop for the best advice.

Re: Luderitz is ready to break new records

Will Rob Douglas be there to defend his world record?

If he is not 'invited" then this event will be very lacking in the credibility department.

It would be sort of like having a surf contest and not inviting Kelly Slater, just so you make sure he doesn't win.

Re: High Wind launch problem-2010 Cab Switchblade 8m

Hi folks, thanks for the replies.

The problem turned out to be one of the front bridles had a wrap that went unnoticed. Thankfully the IDS still worked well.

No problem at all with kite.

Re: High Wind launch problem-2010 Cab Switchblade 8m

I would like to point out that I am not trying to bash Cabrinha kites. In fact this is my kite I am speaking of. I have flown Cabs since original Crossbow came out in 2005. And love them.

My friend who was checking it out is also a longtime Cab owner. And quite a solid kiter.

He used same kite yesterday with no problem. But in much less wind.

On 2nd launch today, he had back lines on outside knot and kite depowered on the front lines. I don't think he was oversheeted. We're baffled.

High Wind launch problem-2010 Cab Switchblade 8m

Today, I helped a friend launch in 30-40mph winds. We are both longtime kiters(12 yrs). When I released kite, it went up and crimped on the leading edge, backed down into power zone and pulled kiter on beach a bit before he activated the IDS, which worked perfectly. Other kites launched at same time...

Re: What are the most durable/reliable kites these days?

My 2010 Cabrinha Switchblades seem to be excellent quality kites. I've had several Cab models in the last 6 years and have not personally experienced the issues that some of you are reporting. Also, I frequently kite with a friend who has original Cab Crossbows. These kites have been in service sinc...

Re: Best Kiteboarding Introduces Extra Charge for Warranty

Not taking one side or the other here, however BEST is requesting much more info than ,say, Ford Motor Company, for example, would request at the purchase of a new vehicle.

Also, Ford and its dealers are required, by law, to have a written customer privacy policy that must be followed.

Re: harness with front suicide leash attachment - know one?

Question.....The suicide leash, normally attached to backside of harness, seems too long for front attachment. Are there any leashes out there that are shorter for attaching to front of harness?

Front attach seems safer in case something goes wrong and you need to separate from kite.
