Re: Dimitri introducing new kites while waveriding & jumping

Too cool! :thumb:

I do presentations all the time for work, but none of them while trying to control a board and a kite... with one hand...

Re: How much is it to stitch leading edge rip?

Good point windmaker.

I guess I was thinking about my old kite that has very little resale value now...

Re: Cabrinha 2011 Switchblade 12m: First Impressions

Cheers Todd. Your last statement about the 12M SB's power is exactly why I'm having the dilemma. I would prefer a 2-kite quiver as my 14m Sonic is an '06 and won't last forever (it's in good condition and great for the light stuff). I'll certainly look into trying a larger board as well, but I don't...

Re: Cabrinha 2011 Switchblade 12m: First Impressions

Hey Cab Driver, I'm thinking of converting to the SB as I want to start doing some unhooked stuff and want a kite with a great wind range (so Nomad is probably out) and constant pull (for the odd wave session). Also, I want a kite that is supported by the local shop, so the SB seems to tick most of ...

Re: Bandit3 pivoting, even after pulling QR!

Check out the Bandit III review in the reviews section:

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2364251&hilit=triangle

You'll notice they mention the lines getting stuck on the 'triangle', which I assume is the same problem you're seeing.

Re: Is there a brand that compares to Cabrinha?

LOL @ china-kites... their HybridIII kite appears to fly backwards if the layout diagram is anything to go by. I'm guessing these are just copies of existing brands' kites, manufactured using the same techniques (and equipment?) from the brand factories, but what about material quality? I'm all for ...

Re: How much is it to stitch leading edge rip?

A professional repairer will know what to do and that looks like a relatively normal rip along the seam, so I suspect it will cost about what windmaker suggested. An alternative is to do it yourself using something like kitefix - they've got a new video on their site (just Google 'kitefix') where th...

Re: Near fatal accident at sandbanks, poole

This is really sad, and I wish the guy a speedy and full recovery. Even more sad is the fact that I've seen exactly the same thing happen at Sandbanks before. About 3 years ago I witnessed a young guy, probably around 17, hot-launch his foil kite in about 20-25 knots of wind directly downwind of him...

Re: downloop transition

When it comes to timing of the downloop vs. you heading after it, remember to downloop the kite first, then follow it around with your board. If you start the downloop and your carve at the same time, you're likely to allow too much slack into the lines and the kite will probably drop LE-down onto t...
