Re: What is Ozone planning for 2009 Instincts

It is possible to upgrade Instinct bar by using SS adjustable stopper ball.
The trick is that you add a steel ring or plastic ball between the SS stopper and the bar. Then such ring or ball helps to fix the SS stopper if the bar is pushed against the stopper.

Re: What is your killer lightwind setup?

Ozone Instinct 11m (2006) Nobile skimboard (no straps, fins removed if really low wind) I weight 75 kg. I have found that Instinct flies more upwind comparing e.g. Crossbow which helps a lot. Going for bigger kite seem to give no significant advantage. Skimboard opens new challenges and makes low wi...

Re: Naish Helix 2008 Chicken Loop Desaster

It can happen with any kite. I guess there was a moment where you did something so that the chicken loop went slack for a moment and the loop somehow bent the donkey dick out of the way and the whole thing gets loose. I have had similar situation couple of times. The easiest cure is to take your bar...

Re: Instinct Sport II

If you do the mini 5th line as shown on the picture above, you should also disconnect the 5th line from the anti-invert span line at the kite, otherwise the 5th line flag out would not work properly.

Re: alternative ways of self landing ozone instinct --6th line

With the newer front-line flag-out, I'm curious if a line through the bar that attaches to the red loop would work so that you have a fully spinnable safety? That would not work because the red loop does not go through the bar if QR is activated and the travel of the bar up on the line until the re...

Re: alternative ways of self landing ozone instinct --6th line

Panchito listed almost all of the common options to upgrade Instinct 06 safety except for one: 3) if you are ready to quit the span line, you can actually very easily make a through the bar 5th line safety, by just adding a line which starts with a ring, then the line goes through a ring of chicken ...

Re: alternative ways of self landing ozone instinct --6th line

I think it would work but it would be quite busy set of lines ... I also have 2006 Instinct and I modified the bar so that if needed I can release in on one of the frontlines. So far it has not failed. I do selflaunch and -landing most of the times. Pulling the QR (or unhooking and letting the bar g...

Re: Looping Kite Accidents

Well, Bron, How can you release if you are knocked unconscious? You probably did not read the beginning of this thread. Point is to find something "automatic" or "semi-automatic" release or a way a third person could help. Secondly, it has been also discussed that the ditched kite can harm innocent ...

Re: Looping Kite Accidents

Back to the topic - how to stop looping kite. I have an idea of improvement of the safety system. How about using reel type of leash with really long cord to connect the kite with your harness (30...50m)? If the kite loops uncontrollably, you pull QR, the leash extends easily enough that the kite ha...

Re: North bar setup for Evo

I hear what you are saying, you are right. As far as being on the water, this is all true. My concern is crashing on land. If two front lines are under tension, there seem to be a risk to get dragged even if the backlines are released (if the kite is nose down, directly downwind). Perhaps I can just...
