Thanks, I had a feeling someone would mention the ocean rodeo mako. I really need to try one first before I buy. It's hard to believe that board does so well going upwind, etc with all that concave. I've even heard the low end is pretty good. Which board would you have to be most powered up on and w...

board suggestions

I'm in the process of buying another board for moderate to higher winds 18mph to 35. I'm 200 lbs or 90 kg. I've been kiting 4 years, do basic tricks, kiteloop, and go big. I have a litewave stealth 137 x 44 which has been a good all-round board for me but I tend to loose the edge on it in + 22mph wi...

I am 90kg and have a dimitri pro like yours. It's a great low wind board and personally I would not want anything bigger or wider unless you plan on just cruising. I had a bigger board 160 x 46 and it just doesn't get me going much better in low wind and is crap to trick on. Over 15 knots I'll switc...

Haven't seen you guys in a while. I guess I've been sticking to Clinton and Hilsdale mostly.
I hope its just a Jackson co. thing and not corps of engineers. If the corps lakes are ever banned I'll be more than pissed and have to do something.
Later,
BA

I'm also a local kansas city kiter. I used to windsurf out there all the time and they had restrictions even on that, eg no weekends etc. Anyway the place has always been banned from kiting by Jackson County. They saw our kites 3-4 years ago and freaked, and without really knowing anything about it,...

Thanks to all replies. You have nailed it on the head: the speed 17 was built for smooth conditions. When I go to the ocean, I haven't had any problems, and love the kite. However, I kite primarily on lakes which are fairly gusty, sometimes "shite 8-20mph" and my main launch site is rocky with trees...

low/ light wind kite questions

I'm selling my low wind machine, the speed 17, because I really need a more depowerable kite for the gusty conditions I'm usually in. Does anyone know how the psycho III 17 compares? FredBGG, you out there? I love my waroo 12 so would also like to hear if any of the newer bows contra2, waroo pro, et...

South Texas kite trip

How is south Texas in Late November? Corpus or SPI? Is one better than the other for kiting, non-wind activities, etc.
Thanks
