Re: Who is still stoked after years of kiting?

Been at it since 2006, gods getting into kiting was intense. Still haven't felt anything like it. Lived and breathed kiting for the first four years or so. Became an instructor. Traveled doing that for a few years. These days im very picky about conditions, dont kite flat water at all. Damaged knees...

Re: Switch Kites thoughts?

My arms are average ;) Are you shure you didn't flew a V1? Because people were complaining about that one, and not really about the V2. And the Naish release is almost the same... gets jammed as well over time without rinsing ;) Yeah im sure. I've tried both. Im curious about the new Element. Anyon...

Re: Switch Kites thoughts?

Just thinking wasn't it GK that introduced that big plasticy style of release and wasn't there a bit of controversy about them jamming up? I seem to remember a video..

Re: Switch Kites thoughts?

I dont know about any of the other models but the i have tried the Method 2. Impressions were that it has so much bar pressure that i couldn't get an impression of the kite at all. I honestly dont have the arms required to steer it and be able to get a feel for it without fighting with the bar to g...

Re: Do you remember landing your first kiteloop?

I'm going to chime in again. As others have said loops will become part of your riding once you're comfortable with them so if your still getting them integrated then i'd suggest you get really comfortable with surface loops in the rest of your regular kiting. Do some committed and not committed, pl...

Re: Do you remember landing your first kiteloop?

The best way to get comfortable with loops is to learn to transition with a downloop (i.e., pulling with front hand on tack #1). Start with a heelside to toeside transition, and as your board moves downwind and then on to the toeside tack, downloop the kite and follow it around to the new tack. Beg...

Re: Which is the best glue for valves?

I've been using this for a few years. A German friend bought me a few tubes http://www.pattex.de/do-it-yourself-mit-pattex-klebstoffe-produkte-new/pattex-klebstoffe/kontaktkleber-gel-fuer-schwierige-oberflaechen/kraftkleber-transparent.html Works well and doesn't require weight to bond, but i have n...

Re: Why are kite companies still selling bars?

How many riders over the years have been riding around thinking I wish I could change my bar length while I'm riding? Exactly. Its easy to move the rear lines at the end of a bar before you launch. Takes 5 to 10 seconds. Its a lot cheaper to make and a lot less likely to stop working. I would like ...
