Re: What is considered to be a big or small Board size for hydrofoiling

Hi ! I begun hydrofoiling lately and I always wondered how it would be to have a bigger board for light wind , I'm 220 pounds all wet and I currently use an Axis Ride 145/48 with 2013 Lift foil . So my question is : What is considered to be a small or big board for Hydrofoiling . Is a 148 considere...

Re: Driving at night in Brazil

I will fly to Brazil in 2 weeks and I will potentially land in Fortaleza at 8.30pm. Is it safe to drive with a rental car to e.g. Cumbuco or Parajuru at this time of the day or do I need to book a flight which arrives during the day or maybe stay at an airport hotel for the first night? Many thanks...

Re: Foil Kite advice Chrono,Hyperlink, Soul

Hi there, just thinking about to Switch my kites to foil kites. I already could try the Flysurfer Soul in 15 and 10m. For the 15 the wind was unfortunately to much on the 10 it was quite fun but above 12knots i had the feeling i could change to a smaller kite because the depower didn't change as ex...

Re: Important Message: I almost died - Gunnar Biniasch

Thanks Gunnar for sharing your harrowing experience, hope it will serve as heads up to all kiters on many fronts.Seems inconcievable to me that it took so long to get some help,as appears highly unlikely but perhaps the crash and downing was not witnessed? Number one rule of thumb for me surfing,kiti...

Re: My first long swim

After dropping and not being able to relaunch a foil kite, any swim with a LEI is just a walk in the park :) Got that right, couple of self rescue swims with a foil kite really make you appreciate the LEIs,foil kites might be great for racing but for the common freeride foil rider,I'll take a LEI an...

Re: My first long swim

As mentioned before very glad Tom it was a happy ending there. Not certain if you were on a foil kite or LEI here but really personally with those conditions especially or even in warmer climates the foil kites are a liability compared to a conventional LEI tube kite.I recently purchased a 12m Hyper ...

Re: New foil from Ozone

Looking at your picture I didn’t take into consideration that you are foilboarding as well as riding strapless which adds more complexities and at the same time learning to master foil kites. You certainly have a lot to think about. With reference to the pulley binding, was that the result of a sei...

Re: New foil from Ozone

@Pitballdoug A credit to you for giving it a go and for persevering, having always used LEI’s. Out of interest at what point did you drop the HL? With respect to the turning speed of the 12m HL as compared with your LEI's it’s probably just a question of adapting to it. When I’ve been using my smal...

Re: New foil from Ozone

Pitbulldoug , try a longer bar like 60 cm for your 12 meters , it would help to gain speed . Also I don't know what is your lines length but you could try shorter lines you would get more speed of your kite . Whatever happens , keep thinking kite up first . Foils kite stay up in the air quite easy ...
