Re: biggest regret purchase

I saw a lot. For me the worst was the Slingshot Link in either modification. Then tight after that was the Windwing Rampage.

The Windtools foils were not that bad comparing it to it’s time. G

Re: Best Kiteboarding new prices - Price revolution

they sold their first set of kites for a 3 for 2 deal and you came down to 350 a brand new kite. That was a deal. Now these prices dont get me excited in any way ...

Great list and especially great history in the ones which didn’t make it. Would be interesting to boil it down who actually makes kites and not only rebrands them.

Re: Old Bandit3 worth repairing?

I would only tape it with the heavier tape version and not the spinnaker sail tape yours looks like. Fly it until this breaks and then cut the strut out and fly it that way. Dont invest in old kites as you will only regret it as newer used kites are just so cheap. Thats my lesson after 17 years of k...

thats our regular coast water temp here in the SF bay area. 4/3 is what everyone has. Hood for the winter is a great addition. You will be fine. I have a psycho 4/3 myself in 3rd generation as they last forever. I also use if for surfing (fully immersed) without a problem.

Re: 20m best yarga

I still have memories but not good ones ;-) They were just too big to be useful. Do you recall the 21 (or was it a 23?) North Rhino??? For me it was the learning factor that for light wind a big board is more important than a big kite. Thats why the large sizes in tubes became extinct. But hey, give...

Re: How old is your oldest kite you still ride on?

First generation best Nemesis 16.?2004? A C kite. Flys like a truck but also pulls like a truck in light wind. Searched for years for something comparable and might have found it now with the 17 edge. The best part on the 16- I NEVER had any repair on it and still going strong. !!! Bomber constructi...

Re: According to Google Trends, kiteboarding is declining in popularity

I am just glad it is over. No more busy spots, waves all for me, lots of space while launching and no noobs around who are in need of their boards or a drag home. Also on top lots of used cheap equipment around to buy when my kites finally give their end.

Just great news all way around. G
